![]() ![]() It also tends to gloss over the potential pitfalls of a 21-year-old woman exacting justice for an accomplished serial killer on her own terms and without any regard for her own safety. As crime dramas go, it's fairly juvenile content-wise, which makes sense given that its target audience is MTV-watching teens. I drew out the art deco pattern as a template, then drew it onto two pieces of coutil, sewed one each side of the corset on the hips to create channels for the cording, and then threaded it through using a trapunto (sp?) needle.Eye Candy is based on R.L. The corset at the bottom I corded using a hemp cord I got from a craft store - I think it is intended for making jewellery, but I find it gives the perfect texture for creating cording which is a similar kind of density and flexibility etc to in the Victorian corsets I have seen/handled. The spikes on the hips are just the screw back type you get to do up "punk" type stuff - they aren't too heavy as they go through the coutil as well, and the only uncomfortable thing I have found with them is that they get cold if you wear the corset out in the English weather haha. I also just finished another plunge front as they're my new favourite thing and the article really helped me master it :) The plunge front one I drafted with help from the recent article on Foundations Revealed. Interesting thing with that is the UV flossing I guess - I just did that using a UV green embroidery thread which is rayon or some such synthetic but silky textured material. It has "dollfie" (ball jointed doll) albino eyes, red crystal spikes and flat back pearls on the hips, which I affixed with e6000. The nude coutil casings are the nude satin coutil from Vena Cava, and the binding is a nude cotton back satin from Berwick street (apparently it was made for that store specifically and the same stuff was used to line one of the suits on the front of the Beatles "Abbey Road" album so that's cool) The sheer fabric for the top one is this : No problem :) I'll go through a bit about the "interesting" features on each: Overbust from tiffany blue silk dupion with cording at the bust and an art deco fan pattern in cording at the hips (not really visible in this image, sorry!) Plunge front corset from peacock green silk taffeta with a couture peacock blue lace overlay, leather casings/binding and gunmetal spikes and swarovski crystals to embellish. The flossing down the front is UV green as is all the stitching. It's not very curvy or anything, I just made it for a bit of fun. This is a sheer underbust corset whichis embellished with albino "dollfie" eyes, red crystal spikes and pearls on the hips. Image heavy/ nsfw but not pornographic or anything. I've been making corsets for what feels like a lifetime now, but it all started here (and the old Yahoo group which I am not sure even exists anymore!) I don't really post here anymore, but I do still read things quite regularly. pattern|simplicity 5726/simplicity 9769. ![]()
